A construction worker was hit by a driver backing out of a parking spot at the Shipley’s Donuts in the 5800 block of Kirby last week. By the time West University Police arrived, the injured worker had been taken to a local medical clinic. According to reports, the driver ran over the workers left foot, around the ankle, as the victim was moving construction barricades. An off-duty police officer working the construction site on Kirby took all the information from the driver and the victim.

On June 9, police responded to a car alarm in the 6500 block of Buffalo Speedway. The door handle of the car appeared damaged and the car’s owner told police the damage was new. Nothing was taken from the car, and there are no suspects.

A house in the 3800 block of Villanova was burglarized the Saturday before Father’s Day, and there are no suspects. The home owner told police there were items missing from the house, and police found additional items packed and ready to be taken.
